Project Description

What is it?

If you come to Granada with your dog, now you have the opportunity to get to know the old Sephardic neighborhood in Granada, el Realejo, with your best friend. This area witnessed the expulsion of the Jews from Granada and still holds its wonderful and rich heritage.

What do we have to offer?

El Realejo, also called “The Jewish Granada” under Muslim rule, was home for an important Jewish community. This community played a key role on the foundation of the Kingdom of Granada until they were expelled from the city. This area was repopulated and it also burned several times, but there is still an amazing cultural heritage from the people who founded it and who lived in it, which can only be found if someone helps you with it.

What will we see?

Starting from Plaza de Isabel la Catolica, we will go up to Plaza del Sol, and then up to Colina del Mauror. We will learn many things about San Cecilio Church and Plaza del Cristo de los Favores, and we will walk around the Christian Realejo to conclude our trip at Castillo de Bibataubin.
